BioInspireSensing

Multidisciplinary training of young researchers in novel implantable bio-inspired sensors

The EU-funded BioInspireSensing project aims to apply the state-of-the-art in ion channel proteins, cell membrane transport, unilamellar vesicles, tethered planar lipid bilayers, synthetic biochemistry and biodegradable and flexible conducting polymers to obtain novel sensors that are fully biocompatible and bioresorbable. The project will establish a transnational training network designed to train PhD students in investigating, building and producing a new generation of bioinspired implantable sensors that measure pressure, temperature and acidity. Ultimately, the project will help create opportunities for the researchers' career mobility within the European Union, which will benefit from their high level of expertise.
