Núria Borràs Cristòfol is an Associate Professor at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and has been a member of the Innovation in Materials and Molecular Engineering (IMEM) group since 2010. She has been a faculty member of the Department of Chemical Engineering since 1993, initially at EUETIB and currently at EEBE. She holds degrees from both the UPC and the University of Barcelona (UB), where she completed her PhD in the Department of Physical Chemistry in 2013.

Her research expertise is in electrochemistry, with a focus on the synthesis and characterization of conducting polymers and copolymers for molecule detection systems using biocompatible electrodes, as well as the electrochemical characterization of advanced materials.

She is currently conducting her research within the HYDRO4F project, which focuses on sustainable water purification and desalination technologies through the development of hybrid synthetic–biopolymer hydrogels incorporating photothermal materials (PTMs) for efficient and reusable solar-driven evaporators and freshwater production.
